Amidst black walls and black risers are ByLee’s brilliantly colored 17/18 collection shining on the runway. The line consists of textures ranging from sequins to sheer in shades of pink, teal, white and orange.

The silhouette-hugging pieces draped over the bodies of models ranging from size zero to plus exuded a sense of self-empowerment and ownership over one’s own sexuality.

“We just implement our art and who we are in our clothes and that ‘ s h ow we got By Lee ,” explained Liz of the designing duo. She also explained that their boutique is all-inclusive. “A size zero can wear the same thing a   size 12 can wear and still look fabulous.” she said.

Their show began with compelling imagery of female activists at work before unveiling their elegant yet edgy gowns and two-piece ensembles.

“A lot of our show tonight was based on rebellion, revolution, and transparency,” added Tiff, second-half of ByLee. “All of the things that are the core for women empowerment. We translated that within our fabrics and detailing and styling tonight.”

Reality star and avid follower of ByLee, Erica Mena, snapped photos of her favorite ensembles from the VIP. Mena later told Industry Rules she had to attend the show simply “for the fashion.”

Mena also spoke on her own fashion line HER in regards to the approaching month in fashion, saying “We have some stuff coming. “But she spoke more candidly about first loving the skin that you’re in. “Don’t worry about fitting in. The only way you can really stand out in this world is being so different,” said Mena. “Don’t be afraid to be who you are and accept all that you are,” she finished.

Guests at ByLee enjoyed comfort food and bite-size desserts while sipping specialty drinks by Her Secret Vault Bar.
