Rookie sensation Lonzo Ball was name Most Valuable Player for the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League.  After being the 2nd overall pick in the NBA Draft by t he Los Angeles Lakers, Ball has certainly lived up to the hype. He played with poise throughout the Summer League and looked years beyond his age with two triple-doubles during this campaign.

Lonzo Ball averaged 16.3 points per game while adding nearly 10 assist (9.3 to be exact), 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. If those numbers transfers to the NBA regular season, not only will he be the “Rookie of the Year”, he will probably receive votes for MVP of the league. Hall of Fame and Lakers executive Magic Johnson is looking good after his first pick produced a great stat line while wining the coveted MVP award. This Magic Johnson’s first year as GM and he’s already doing a noteworthy job with this solid pick in Lonzo Ball.

Unfortunately, Ball had to sit out of the championship game in the Summer League due to calf injury.  The injury is reported not to be serious.

This is a great way to start is professional career by dominating his opportunity in the NBA while wearing a LA Lakers uniform.

Congratulations.
