Fashion is one of the hallmarks of America’s social fabric. It’s one of the markers that separate everyone distinctly. Style and how we eloquently display or fashion sense is one of the cornerstones to individuality within the country. Albeit shirt, blazer, skirt or blouse fashion is our culture and our culture is fashion. For this issue, we are focusing on women shoes as it pertains to fashion.

Je T’aime Shoes offers a variety of chic high end fashion designer as well as new designers. This mix allows the store to keep a wide range clientele were price points are affordable for all.

Founded by Jiton Greene, a New Jersey realtor, Je T’aime Shoes׳ boots, heels and accessories has been worn by many celebrities like Yandy Smith, Wendy Williams, Megan Good and Tami Roman to name a few. The brand has also been featured on several platforms including Love & Hip Hop New York. Je T’aime Shoes has received positive reviews and notoriety, but Jiton spoke on the difficulties of owning your own business while being a person of color. “It’s a struggle, but I enjoy the challenge. It’s no secret that as an African-American female you have to work twice as hard”, she says.

Je T’aime Shoes flagship store is located at one the largest malls on east coast in Paramus, New Jersey. “When we made the move from Brooklyn to Paramus, we wanted to expand our brand while capturing a new audience,” says Jiton. That vision was manifested as Paramus Mall is on one of the country’s most lucrative malls in the country. “We are looking to grow the brand in other major cities like Los Angles, Atlanta and Miami,” she said when asked if she were to open any stores outside the east coast.
