There’s nothing like having milk chocolate and a piña colada on Miami’s South Beach when the temperature hovers around 80 degrees. And, there’s nothing like seeing the beautiful De’Anne Roye gracing the sands of South Beach while holding a piña colada. Both scenes are epic. Standing at 5’8” and just under 120lbs, the Jamaican decent is trending in Miami. Her humbleness and dedication are some of the traits that allowed her to successfully transitioned her passion for modeling to a full-time career.  With over 50 credited photo shoots and campaigns for Carnival Cruises, Bahama Breeze, Fiat, Travel Channel, Andre Walker Hair, Corkcicle Catalog, Court Culture Lookbook (Miami Heat Lifestyle Brand), Orlando North Tourism, Palm Beach Tourism, Publix Supermarket and more, she still considers herself as “growing” in the industry.

She sat down with Industry Rules to chat between modeling projects.

AF How long have you been modeling and what was the key factor in your decision to get involved with the model industry?

DR: Four years full-time. I absolutely love being the subject of the camera and the creative side. It’s truly amazing to have an opportunity to do something that you love.

AF: What were some of the challenges you faced?

DR: Just figuring out how to build my portfolio and finding the right agencies for me.

AF: Where do you draw your inspiration to succeed?

DR: My passion for this industry and my burning desire to get better and to continue to grow! You can’t stay stagnated. Growth is paramount.

AF: I hear that you are excellent in the kitchen when it comes to cooking. What are some of your favorite dishes to prepare?

DR: I enjoy making healthy foods delicious. I like to make split pea soup with tomatoes and green squash. Another favorite dish is cooked oatmeal with milk, cinnamon, vanilla, cashews, almonds, cranberries and bananas. Sweet! I also love to bake sweet potato slices as well.

AF: You’re also a blogger on skincare and healthy eating. What advice would you share to maintain healthy skin and a balanced diet?

DR: The major key is water. It does so many good things for the body. A great regimen for your skin should include a cleanser, toner and moisturizer. Along with a balance diet and adequate rest, your skin will look amazing!

AF: Gucci or Louis Vuitton?

DR: Louis Vuitton and it’s because of how Naomi Campbell rocked out one of their ads on sand. #Slay.

AF: If you had the opportunity to make a change on society, what would that be?

DR: If we could see more of the good in people and less focused on the negative in people, society would improve overall.
