The NBA Finals are finally here. Both teams from their respective conferences are set to battle for the coveted NBA championship. The NBA couldn’t have written a better script with defending champion Golden State Warriors led by Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green matching up against LeBron James’ revamped Cleveland Cavaliers. Like the late great recording artist Notorious B.I.G., King James has one more chance to dethrone the west coast juggernaut from Oakland to win his 4th NBA title. Can he do it? Will Steph Curry and Kevin Durant enjoy another cigar moment and a parade to celebrate their back-to-back title? Time will tell. The much waited takes center stage and the world will be watching.

For this issue, we breakdown the keys to victory for both teams to win the championship, starting with the Cavaliers.

CLEVELAND

At the beginning of the season, the Cavs look poised to cruise through the regular season. During the offseason, the front office added Isaiah Thomas to assist LeBron during the season and playoffs. On paper, the team had the making of a powerhouse, but something wasn’t right. The teams continuity was off and it show on the court as well as the win and loss column. The team wasn’t winning and upper management made a bold move to trade pieces (Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye that didn’t mesh well with their iconic superstar.

When Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr was acquired via trade, the team took some time to flourish but they got into their groove and made it back to the NBA Finals.

Keys to Victory

Lebron “King” James. He is the Cavaliers only ray of hope. He’s virtually unstoppable when he’s determined and motivated. There’s no motivation like the Warriors celebrating last year championship courtesy of King James. He will have to average 28 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals a game to bring another trophy to Cleveland. Lebron will have to beast mode every game in order to win. Tristan Thompson will need play strong on interrior defense and not allow GS second shot opportunities.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS

The Warriors is the best team in the NBA. This has been a consistent statement over the last three years. It’s all star roster thrives on the commitment to team first basketball. Kevin Durant cannot be guarded. Klay Thompson jump shot is close to being a layup while Draymond Green old school Charles Oakley’s style of play gives the team that added grit. Steph Curry’s range is unlimited.

Keys to Victory

The Warriors need to play Warriors’ basketball. If they stay composed and play their brand of basketball, they will be back to back champions.
