The new Panamera is one of Porsche’s best offerings, and it’s easy to see why. The car is dynamic, sprite, agile, and an overachiever.

Depending on the trim level and model you’re after, the cost of your new Porsche could be anywhere between $85,000 and $195,000. The top-dollar variant is the ultra-high quality and cutting edge Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive, which represents the company’s best foot forward in delivering a cutting-edge Panamera that blows away the competition.

The base model is the Panamera at $85,000, with the all-wheel-drive version clocking in at $90,000. Both feature a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that’s good for 330 horsepower. All engine variants also feature the company’s proprietary dual-clutch automatic transmission.

From there, you can opt for a $103,000 twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 version packing 440 horsepower, named the Panamera S.

A very high-end variant, the Panamera Turbo, is available with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces upwards of 550 horsepower. That’ll set you back $150,000.

Topping the list is the $184,000 electric hybrid — hosting a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which, paired with the electric motor, make the car good for 680 horsepower.

All the engine variants are built and tuned well, and provide more than enough power and acceleration, particularly for the class. In between those options, there are 15 total versions available.

Ride quality is nice across the board, too. Braking power is more than suitable, and the multiple ride settings available to the driver are well-executed, so there’s something for everyone.

Interior & Goodies

While the car’s performance has taken most of the spotlight, the new Panamera’s interior quality is best-in-class, playing host to a bevy of premium materials and an elegant design typical of Porsche’s world-renowned stylists.

 

Pairing the many intelligent features on the car with the maker’s attention to detail across the interior is the sleek dashboard and touchscreen infotainment system. With it, the driver will be able to control the car’s 10-speaker surround system, USB and bluetooth, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, onboard WiFi, and other features.

Shelling out a bit more cash for the higher-end models can net you quad-zone climate control, a 14-speaker Bose audio system or a thunderous 21-speaker Burmester system, ambient interior lighting, and an entertainment system in the rear.

As far as cargo space is concerned, each model is a bit different, but all are on par with industry standards — not a letdown in any way. For a performance Porsche, the 15 or so cubic feet of space (40 or more with the rear seats down) is more than generous, and is suitable for large hauls.

Safety

For the safety-minded driver, the Panamera delivers, and leaves little to be desired. Available on the new model, you’ll find parking sensors in the front and rear of the car.

There’s also a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, road sign recognition, traffic jam assist, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, night vision (seriously!), a 360-degree camera, and collision warning. Anyone with safety at the forefront of their priority list will find the Panamera to be an optimal choice.

The car comes with a four-year, 50,000 mile warranty.

Final Verdict

Porsche always delivers, and they’ve carved out quite a nice little niche with the Panamera. The 2018 model is by far and away the best version of the car yet, and one of the best Porsches in the maker’s entire fleet.
