Ezekiel Bread Benefits

Religious practices are known to influence the life choices of its believers in the realms of interpersonal relationships, judgment of right from wrong and even dietary concerns. Islam only allows Halal foods while denouncing pork and alcohol. Sanskrit texts that dictate Hinduism forbid beef consumption and encourage drinking and eating milk products. Grain product brand Ezekiel 4:9 has used the scripture of the Holy Bible as the basis of their ultra-healthy Ezekiel bread.

“Take also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt and put them in one vessel…” (Ezekiel 4:9). Christians knew the secret recipe for the healthiest bread on the planet thousands of years before the fad diets and fears of bread at the present day.

Research has proven zero to low carbohydrate diets to be most effective in short-term weight loss; however, the day to day effects can be hard to manage. Glucose, your body’s favorite carbohydrate, is used to produce the energy that drives physical actions and mental cognition. Carbohydrates are the brain’s ultimate source of fuel which is why skipping carbs will leave you feeling light-headed and a bit grumpy. The myth about carbohydrates is that ingesting them automatically increases the body’s fat content. This is only halfway true. Your body does not turn every bit of glucose it is given directly into fuel. It takes as needed from a bank of glucose. If your body has more carbohydrates than it needs to function, those carbohydrates are stored as fat for later use. Considering carbohydrates is less important for elite athletes because they demand enough physical activity from their bodies to use all the glucose they put in. My weekend warriors and sedentary readers, however, must be keen to their carbohydrate intake or consider a more rigorous exercise plan.

As I have mentioned in previous articles, the quality of the food you eat matters. By quality I mean how much “bang for your buck” you get with each bite of your food. Ezekiel bread is best bread on the market because not only does it keep the carbs at a healthy level, it is a strong source of protein! Sprouted breads, such as

Ezekiel bread, contain amino acids, vitamins C and B, and are high in soluble fiber. A bread that is low in carbohydrates? How??

Ezekiel bread is partly made by sprouting seeds inside of the loaf. Just like most organisms, seeds are genetically programmed to produce anti-nutrients that will hurt the organism ingesting them (much like some caterpillars have poisonous cocoons to stay safe until they become butterflies and can protect themselves).

Sprouting the seeds in optimal conditions within the bread deactivates those anti-nutrients. This process uses some of the starch in bread and subsequently decreases the amount of carbohydrates.
Sprouting the seeds inside of wheat bread does not eliminate all negative effects of bread, but it does a much better job than refined grain breads with added sugars (which Ezekiel bread has none of, by the way). Although gluten-free folks should avoid Ezekiel 4:9 loaves, atheists, Christians, Mormons, and Buddhists alike should give it a try!
