Lovello Elizabeth

We are wrapping up Black History Month with the lovely Lovello Elizabeth. She is a fashion designer whose high-quality versatile loungewear can be rocked by just about anyone. This Philly based brand has become quite popular and has garnered over 69K followers on Instagram. This should be no surprise since she made quality her top priority since the inception of her brand.

In these troubling times, people are being forced to spend more time at home. Her designs are comfortable and the perfect attire to wear at home during quarantine. Her fashion designs are fun to wear and you will definitely stand out from the crowd once outside opens up.

We recently spoke with the owner of the Lovello Elizabeth about her fashion journey, how she has been managing her brand throughout the pandemic, and her upcoming projects.

Q: How did you get your start in the fashion industry?

I got my start in the industry by creating t-shirts and sweatshirts, from there I found a manufacturer that could bring my designs to life. I quickly shifted to bringing technical designers on the team to grow with the brand.

Q: How have you been managing your brand during the pandemic?

We’ve been taking things one step at a time. We’ve transitioned to online ecommerce sales to keep our customers and associates safe during this unprecedented time. We just want to focus on staying creative, keeping healthy, and building a strong foundation.

Q: Which fashion designers do you admire, past or current?

We LOVE brands like Anine Bing, Rhude, Kith, Aime Leon Dore, and Ralph Lauren.

Q: Have you experienced any setbacks as a woman of color designing fashion?

None that matter. The brand flourishes regardless of any setbacks.

Q: Can you share some of your career highlights?

So many highlights because every day is a major stepping stone for the brand.

Some of my favorites:

When we first opened our studio at the end of 2017 that was major at the time. Then in 2018, when we dropped our top selling jumpsuits, we had a major turnout that really showed me that the brand could take the training wheels off. From there we had our first fashion show at the start of 2019, that fashion show really blew me away. Not only because we planned the whole show in 3 months, or because we sold out at 500 tickets. It was the amount of support from all over that filled me with so much gratitude. This brings me to the present times, we were able to survive a whole pandemic and economic crisis. I’m so overjoyed that the brand can withstand such trying times.

Q: What advice would you give someone who is looking to become a fashion designer?

Take your time. Be patient with yourself and your creations. You are in competition with yourself. Do your research and study the industry well. If you can, find a mentor that will help you through the process. The journey is worth it in the long run, so do not give up!

Q: The world will never be the same after Covid-19. How do you envision your brand during a post-pandemic world?

It’s only up from here. We look forward to fun in person experiences, a store, and new collections for the outside world. We are creating ready to wear for outside activities. We are hopeful that post-pandemic will be a good time for fashion and fun.

Q: Do you have any upcoming projects you’d like to share with our readers?

Check out our website in April 2021, we look forward to a brand new experience that makes shopping with Lovello easy and convenient.  We’ll be adding fresh collections that have never been released before.

Q: How can people connect with you for business opportunities?

Reach out to us via email or Instagram @lovelloelizabeth. We’re always looking for new people to join the team or people that are interested in collaboration. This is the time to connect to conquer.
