Born in Lexington, Kentucky to a Jewish father and Japanese-Irish mother, Periii and her family moved to Maryland a few years later when her father won the job of piano player for the President.  Since music is so deeply valued by her family, it makes sense that Periii started piano at the age of four and violin and the age of six.  Her classical training continued through college; she received a degree in music education from the University of Louisville.  While there, she aspired to be an orchestral conductor, but the rigidity of classical music never inspired her as much as the opportunity to create something completely new.
She incorporates her instrumental training now into the music she writes and produces, injecting violin and piano into songs influenced by great storytellers, from hip hop, RnB, and EDM artists to the books that she reads and the jazz solos she heard her father play.  The stories in her own songs stem from her experiences on topics ranging from toxic relationships and abuse to self-discovery and self-love.  Drawing comparisons to Sade and Alicia Keys, her low and soulful voice tells the story of a woman who believes, despite the ugliness of the world we live, in our power and the power of our love.  She currently lives in Maryland with her daughter and just released her first single “Get Me High” with Add Ventures Music.
