Pumpkin Spice Sangria is the perfect choice when you’re craving a delicious fall drink. This classic American seasonal cocktail is full of rich, authentic flavors that bring warmth and comfort. It’s an ideal beverage to serve at autumn gatherings.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Apple, sliced (Granny Apple)
- 1 Pear, sliced
- 1 Orange
- 1/2 cup Pumpkin Spice Syrup
- 2 cups Apple Cider
- 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1 Tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 3/4 cup Brandy
- 1 Bottle of White Wine
- (Pino Grigio OR Sauvignon Blanc)
MOCKTAIL: Omit the wine. Combine sparkling apple cider and flavored club soda.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Slice your orange, pear, and apple.
Combine brandy, pumpkin spice syrup, apple cider, and pumpkin pie spice, in a big pitcher. Add the maple syrup and mix to make your sangria a little sweeter.
Mix the sangria mixture thoroughly and add the sliced fruits to the sangria.
To allow the flavors to come together, cover the pitcher of Pumpkin Spice Sangria and place it in the refrigerator for at least two to four hours. For best results, let it sit overnight.
Before serving, pour the white wine into your pitcher and stir. For this delicious sangria, my preferred white wine is Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc.
Fill each glass with 3/4 full of the ice cubes and pour the Pumpkin Spice Sangria. Stir a little, and add any desired garnishes.
Notes –
Use less wine to keep your Pumpkin Spice Sangria light and not too strong.
Ice cubes: For delectable cubes that won’t dilute the beverage, think about freezing apple cider in an ice tray. Since no one likes a warm sangria, it is necessary that this beverage be served cold.
Apple: Pairs well with a variety of wines and adds a sweet-tart taste.
Orange: Gives a combination of sweetness and a cool citrus acidity.
Pear: Adds a distinct taste and gives the sangria a seasonal, fall mood.
Pumpkin Spice Syrup: Brings in the spirit of fall and gives a smoother texture. Torani Pumpkin Spice Syrup is the brand I prefer.
Pumpkin Pie Spice: Gives Pumpkin Spice Sangria a hearty, earthy taste.
Apple Cider: Apple cider adds a tangy sweetness and a great depth of flavor.
Maple Syrup: Complements all of the other sangria ingredients and adds a distinctive fall flavor.
Brandy: A key traditional component in sangria is brandy. It also gives this beverage a rich flavor and warmth.
White Wine: Provides a dry, sharp taste to counterbalance the sweetness.
Cinnamon Sticks: Use full sticks of cinnamon to add a bit more taste. If desired, garnish with extra fruit slices, cinnamon sticks, and rosemary.
Storage: Keep the Pumpkin Spice Sangria for up to three days in the fridge. Garnish the glasses as described above when you’re ready to drink it again.
Cheers!
