Caramel Apples are the most fun Fall recipe to make for kids. Savor some tasty, chewy Caramel Apples with your preferred sweet topping. This recipe’s toppings add so much excitement to the snack. A typical American snack or dessert, Caramel Apples are a delightful fall delicacy that the whole family will love.
INGREDIENTS:
8 large tart Apples
8 Wooden Sticks
2 cups Brown Sugar
1 cup Butter
1 cup light Corn Syrup
1 (14 ounce) can Condensed Milk
2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cut off the stems from each apple. Boil the apples for a minute or rinse them under extremely hot water for 1-2 minutes before completely drying them off with a paper towel. Doing this will help to remove the wax surrounding the apples.
To ensure the apples are perfectly cooled before dipping, I strongly advise putting them in the refrigerator a few hours beforehand.
Insert sticks for a handle, through the bottom into the core of each chilled apple.
Combining the butter, brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and corn syrup in a saucepan, heat it to medium-high heat while stirring continuously to avoid burning.
After taking the cooked caramel off the stove, whisk in the vanilla extract.
Carefully roll every apple in the caramel dip until completely covered. To set, place on the prepared sheet.
Notes: Any kind of apple will work, but the sweet caramel covering pairs well with a crisp, tart apple.
Brown sugar: has a higher flavor profile and is softer than conventional white sugar. It is excellent when used in recipes for caramel coating.
Butter: adds unbeatable taste and a desirable softness.
Corn Syrup: corn syrup is needed to help create a pleasant, sticky consistency that is similar to the base for caramel apples. The caramel will simply slide off the apple without it.
Condensed Milk: more stable to cook with than heavy cream.
Vanilla Extract: Additional flavorcan be added by using a dash of vanilla extract.
