This year’s Hampton Classic Horse Show was a breath of fresh air. Suspended last year due to the global pandemic, those who are habitual attendants, like I am, could not wait to see those magnificent animals perform under extreme pressure, competing for up to $1,000,000 in cash and prizes. This is Industry Rules’ sixth year attending Yaya Rey’s Hampton Brunch, who hosts VIPs under the Grand Prix VIP white tents, and brings together a mix of celebrities, influencers, socialites, fashionistas, business executives, entertainment professionals, media, Hamptonites, equestrians, and the horse community to watch the Hampton Classic Horse Show. The delicious brunch and lunch was catered by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs.
The day started off with a cloudy forecast, but it later gave way with bright sunshine. All of the patrons wore their fancy outfits. The ladies wore their traditional hats, while the male guests expressed their fashion statements with their seasonal attire. Needless to say, the guests dressed their best, and they did impress.
As the National Anthem was sung, the crowd cheered on. It was such a relief to be back to normal, and to experience the Opening Day of the Hampton Classic Horse Show. The riders and horses did not disappoint. The athletes showed poise as they negotiated every obstacle with grace. Watching the horses gallop over the fine grass was like watching time stand still. It was mesmerizing. The horses always add to the beautiful landscape. The Hampton Classic Horse Show is always epic, and it is no wonder why it is the grand finale social bash of the summer.
