Classic Italian food includes Caprese Steak. It is a popular method of serving steak in Italy and is guaranteed to make everyone at the dinner table happy. What an awesome delicious meal to prepare for a special evening or a romantic dinner!

INGREDIENTS:

2 (8 ounces) Sirloin Steaks

1 Beefsteak Tomato sliced

4 Mozzarella sliced

Fresh Basil leaves, to garnish

MARINATED SAUCE:

2/4 Balsamic Vinegar

2 Tbsp Honey

2 Tbsp Olive Oil / divided

1 Tsp Dried Oregano

1 Tsp Dried Thyme

3  cloves Garlic, minced

INSTRUCTIONS:

Place steaks in a large plate, trim off any excess fat or gristle, then pat the steaks dry with paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Mix the Balsamic Vinegar, minced Garlic, Honey, dried Oregano, dried Thyme and 1 Tbsp Olive Oil in a small bowl. Place the steaks into the marinade sauce. Before cooking, I suggest letting the steaks marinade in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. (The steak can also be seasoned and cooked immediately.)

Add 1 tablespoon of Oil to your skillet and preheat it. Add the steak once it is heated. Sear for 3-5 minutes then flip and further cook until the desired doneness.

For rare, one more minute.

For medium-rare, add 3 more minutes.

For medium, add 5 more minutes.

7 more minutes until completion..

When the steaks are done, transfer the cooked steaks to a cooling rack. Put rack over a plate so that the juices will be caught. Allow to rest for 10 minutes while loosely covered with vented foil. Turn the steaks over while they are resting to maintain heat and keep the juices flowing toward the center.

GARNISH:

Place the Tomatoes sliced in a small plate and sprinkle them with Salt and Pepper.

Take a spoon and scoop the drippings from the steak pan to use as a sauce that you will drizzle on top of the steak.

Just before serving, top each steak with the Tomatoes sliced, 4 slice of Mozzarella Cheese, Basil Leaves then drizzle the Balsamic glaze.

Bon Appetit!
