A moment of silence for the resolution you made to stop shopping for the new year, because I found a great reason for you to dust off that Amex and splurge just a teeny bit. It’s time to take heed of Heed NYC, a luxury fashion brand founded by Taheed R Watson. Although only about 4 years old, Heed has a mature, powerful message of “taking note, being aware of and taking heed to a growing multi-cultural society.” Their mission is to embrace diversity fearlessly while making an impact worldwide.

From the apparel to the accessories, their designs do just that: make an impact. Everyone you cross paths with will definitely be taking note when rocking Heed. Heed’s ready to wear is an athleisure line that includes cropped windbreakers and printed leggings for women, and super smooth bomber jackets for men. My favorites on the HeedNYC site is their collaboration with mexican artist and producer, DJ GlO MY, and New York street artist, Magnum M.S.K. The DJ GLO MY collab consists of graphic boston bags and low top vegan leather sneakers that totally encompasses New York’s vitality. While the Magnum M.S.K collection consists of graphic duffle and traveler bags and low top sneakers that absolutely encompasses New York’s grit and tenacity. Both designs are dope, fun and definitely meant to be seen. What stood out the most, however, is Heed’s luxury eyewear. The $395 sunglasses hails avant-garde and exclusivity, which makes it a definite must have for the spring.

It is time to take Heed: to brunch, to the gym, to run errands. Your resolution can wait for next year, your secret is safe with me.
